Power Up

To Power Up Laser:

Call Engineering
Tie In - 208 VAC / 3 Phase / 45 AMP / ( 3 Hots & 1 Ground )
Give Him Tails, LOOK IN HIS EYES AND TELL HIM NO NEUTRAL

Place Beam Table ( In A Secured 10' Safety Circle )

Place Power Supply - Within 4' Of Table

Place Laser In Table - Lift Out Of Case Slowly, Don't Bend Umbilical More Than 8". If By Yourself Loop The Umbilical Around Your Neck.Take Care Not To Drop The Connector Or Get ANY Moisture Near Or On It, Or An Explosion Shall Prevail. (Pack up gear in reverse order go home, Do not tell Pat what happened). GENTLY ! (Did I Mention GENTLY!) Place The Front Of The Laser In The Table And Slide Forward Till It Stops Against Sub-Table, Position In Front Of 1st MM1.

Connector Procedure:
1) Unwrap Plastic Covers Off Of M&F Amphenol
Blow Dry Both Ends - Constantly Moving Dryer
In Circular Motion, 15 sec. each.
2) Screw Connectors Together - Using Push/Screw Action, Alternate. In other Words - Press In The Connector As Far As It Will Go. Then And Only Then, Tighten Out Screw Coupler Till It Is Tight. Then Push In Connector Agian, Ect. Aternate.
3) Unscrew Hose End Caps Connect, Take Care Not To Twist, Kink Or Pinch Hoses Around Corrugated Grey Hose (Umbilical).
4) Tighten Finger Tight Then 1/8th Turn, With Channel Locks. Any More Than An 1/8th Will Deform or Cut Washers. If Leak Is Present Then Tighten Till It Stops.
5) Run Hoses To & From Power Supply ( Male=Squirts Female=Receives, Get it?)
6) Set Up Pump (Water Distri), Near Water Head/Feed If Close To Site. Otherwise Near Laser If A Long Hose Run Is Used.
7) Run Feeder Cable (Electrician Should Be Off His Break By Now)?

Water Procedure:
Use 2 People With Radios, If Pos. - 1 @ Power Supply & 1 @ Water Head.
1) Turn On Water To 10-20 PSI - Listen For Water In Laser & Supply.
2) Touch Hose Connectors @ P.Sup. With Fingers To Check For Leaks.
3) Confirm Output @ Drain ( Should See Water Output In 2-3 Min. Pending Hose Run Lenght). Do Not Proceed Until this Is Confirmed.
4) Turn Water Up To 30-40 PSI - Check For Leaks @ Hoses & P.Sup..
( 1/8th Turn Junctions If Needed )
5) Loosen Nut Ont Regulator ( Reg.) & Turn Screw Back To 20 PSI.
6) Start Pump
7) Slowly Turn Screw On Reg. Up To 45-55 PSI Only, Tighten Nut. (60-75PSI Large Frame Lasers ex: 20Watt) Water At Drain Should Be Full Diameter Of Hose.

9) Place Safety Placards

10) Check For Leaks !!!!!!!!!!!! After That Check For Leaks.

Power Up:
1) Measure Voltage At Distribution Box. It Should Read Between 202-218 VAC ( 208 Goal ). (480 +/- 8% - for Large Frame Lasers ex:20watt)
2) Turn On Distribution Box, Check For 3 Line Lights On Power Supply.

3) Slowly Lift Up Breaker On Power Supply - Wait (12 Sec.+/-) For "Ready" Light.

4) Current Knob @ 2, - Field Knob @ 0, - Say A Prayer & Press Start...

At this Point The Current Meter On Power Supply Should Read 15Amps, And You Should Have A Beam. If Not See Appendix A-1 Or Trouble Shooting Section.
