To many of us, these things should be common sense. However, in this business we work with those who are uncommon. 14 Long Term Employment Suggestions 1. Be overly courteous to the client at ALL times. 2. Never use profanity on jobsite (in ear of client). 3. Please do not smoke or drink alcohol on jobsite (in view of client). 4. Pants, shirt, shoes, socks should be black (during show). 5. Please do not talk on the cellphone or have 'long lost catch up' conversations with local crew during active LOAD-IN or Pre-show periods (unless it is 911). 6. Alert Laser/Pyro Safety Officer (LSO) of your safety concerns. 7. Feel free to suggest things, however the LSO is the boss, their word is the final authority. Do not be offended if your suggestion was not used. 8. KLS will supply your meals in & out of town, hotel room and transportation. 9. Please supply your own stage hand tools (e.g. flashlight, c-wrench, gloves, ect.). 10. No question is a stupid question. Many accidents have been diverted by simple questions. 11. If you see a major problem (Fallen mirror, water leak, fire...) or another impending issue, take immediate action and then let LSO know. 12. If you want to make a great KLS impression, ask before doing. If unsure please ask LSO before doing it. 13. When loading truck, please do not ram casters up the ramp or over door jambs. This is not Audio, Lighting, Video gear. KLS ships fragile optics and explosives. One laser goes to the show which has the value of a small house. Please get assistance and overly baby all cases. 14. Patrick Sittnick (Owner), may seem as if he does not trust your work at times. He may ask seemingly stupid or obvieous questions or triple check your handiwork. He may ask you to re-do something. He is very concerned how things get done. In light of the hazardous nature of this field, this attention to extreme detail is needed. The smallest trivial item to you, may be a safety concern to him. Patrick may not be aware that you did something already. Please do not answer in a miffed tone "I KNOW !!!", "I WILL !!!" or ignore the question. This negative attitude will facilitate a shortened business relationship. There are (industry) 'things' that we have all done 5001 times in the past, HOWEVER, Patrick may want it done a NEW way. Again, feel free to ask why or suggest other options in a friendly demeanor (He may use them). Nevertheless, do not be offended if your suggestion was not used. Remember, Patrick pays for 100% of the companies hefty insurance premiums. Please answer politely and lets all work to keep the job site a happy place :o)
